Intimate Backyard Wedding // Mark & Christi // Angie's Farm House // Grain Valley, MO

There's nothing better than getting married under a big tree in a backyard surrounded by your loved ones

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm kind of obsessed shooting backyard weddings. What is a backyard wedding? It's simple, homey, and intimate. Mark and Christi tied the knot at Angie's Farm House located in Grain Valley, Missouri. Angie owns a large range of land up on a hill overlooking the countryside of eastern Missouri. Their ceremony was in front of a large tree overlooking this view, with their reception taking place behind the farm house under a large tent decorated with lights.  Something so simple, is just so beautiful.

Those intimate family moments

Mark and Christi have such a beautiful love for each other that I immensely enjoyed capturing for their engagement session, and I knew it was going to be just as beautiful the day of their wedding. However, something I noticed throughout the wedding day was the immense overflowing love they have for their friends and family. Christi has such a passionate love for children! In fact, the father of a family she has babysat and known for years walked her down the aisle and got a first look of the Christi before the wedding. His children were "ring security" and the flower girl. And from the amount of photos I took, the love Christi has for this family and them for her is limitless! Another added detail Christi included in her wedding was the accessories she added to her bouquet. On her bouquet was a locket with a photo featuring her and her father on the inside. On the outside, there were words carved "until we meet again". On the wrap of her bouquet was a section of her grandfather's hat! With Mark, all three of his siblings stood by him in the wedding party. His best man, and brother gave a heartfelt toast at the reception that afterward, Mark charged towards him to give him a big bear hug. And do not get me started on the tearful moment that Mark and his grandmother shared, dancing on the dance floor.

Mark and Christi, I adore your love!

The two of them decided not to see each other until Christi was walking down the aisle, and I think that was a perfect choice. Mark got so emotional as he saw her walking towards him. After the celebrations of the ceremony, we wandered off to take photos of just the two of them, which ended into a beautiful sunset session.  Their personalities really shine through with these photos. The lighting was just gorgeous.

The reception: entrance and ending

This wedding knew how to party! At the reception's entrance, the wedding party joined Mark and Christi for a synchronized dance which ended with Mark doing a backflip! Do not get me started on the food! A taco bar on one side, and endless amount of treats on the other. Within the barn, hung their names in lights. It was so beautiful and as the day turned into the night, the laughter and excitement did not end. With the dance floor open, Mark and Christi danced the night away.  The wedding ended with a beautiful sparkler exit! Enjoy the highlights!
