Movie Theater Themed Engagement // Joey + Abi // Kansas City, MO
"We want to take our photos inside a movie theater"
YES! When Abi emailed me the idea of photographing at the theater where Joey proposed, I was all for it! I always, ALWAYS encourage couples to think of a meaningful spot. Do not think about whether it's a "pretty spot" or is it "photographic" enough, because trust me, I will always find a way to make your favorite spot look gorgeous! Abi and Joey's engagement session took place at the Screenland Armour Theater, located in Northern Kansas City. I had been to the theater before for their Panic Film Fest to catch a movie once , and let me tell you, it's not just ANY theater! For Abi and Joey's shoot, I wanted to incorporate the bar (and to calm the nerves) within the theater, the arcade games, and the decor! The two of them were all for it, and actually wanted to take specific photos in front of fandom loves. They told me they played Mrs. Pacman a lot together, and are into horror movies (hence the IT decorations).
After getting a few shots inside, we went outside to explore. And wow, did we find some cool spots! A rooftop, a train cart, and some fantastic backdrops. At sunset, we risked a life or two by taking a shot in the middle of a busy street. Afterwards, we ordered a box of popcorn to end the session. I want to thank the employees at the Screenland Armour for being so accommodating and helpful! I had too much fun with these two and I am so excited for their wedding in April! We are crossing our fingers for rain to get those epic downpouring shots! :)
